Maine Virtual Academy recently added to its "Early College" program, which lets more students than ever take college courses for free through the University of Maine and Maine Community College systems. For the 2025–2026 school year, the academy is also adding new interactive career clubs and virtual lab simulations to help students learn STEM and vocational skills in a more hands-on way. The school also recently held a successful statewide student leadership summit, which helped students work to gether and make connections with each other through its new digital engagement platform.
