In January 2026, St. Charles High School opened its new digital media studio, which gives students access to professional-grade broadcast technology for the daily "Spartan News" production. The school's fine arts department is currently showing off student-made sculptures and digital illustrations in a gallery after the students won several awards at the regional Scholastic Art competition. The varsity basketball team also had a big win this month, which kept them at the top of the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference.
