People say that Oakland Mills High School is one of the best schools in the area. About 30% of students take Advanced Placement (AP) classes and tests. Oakland Mills High School is currently advertising its improved fine arts program, which now includes a new digital arts lab for making videos and graphics. In January 2026, the school's wrestling and basketball teams reached important goals, and many of the student-athletes were praised for how well they played and how well they behaved. To help students get into college, the school has also started a new series of SAT prep classes on Saturdays.
