18 seniors from Glen Oaks Senior High School made history recently by graduating from both high school and college in the same week as part of the groundbreaking "Pathways to Bright Futures" pilot program. The school has also changed its schedule for the 2025–2026 school year. The start time has been moved to 8:50 a.m. to better match the health and academic success of the students. The campus also continues to build community pride through new programs like the officially approved Glen Oaks license plates, which raise money for student programs and activities that are still going on.
Q1. What big academic goal did seniors just reach?
Ans. Eighteen students from the same school made history by graduating with both high school diplomas and college associate degrees in the same week.
Q2. What changes have been made to the school schedule to help students?
Ans. To help students stay healthy, Glen Oaks Senior High School changed the start time to 8:50 a.m. for the 2025–2026 school year.
Q3. How does the community help pay for student programs?
Ans. The money from new Glen Oaks license plates that have been officially approved helps pay for a number of school-related and extracurricular activities.
Q4. Is the school focused on the ACT test?
Ans. The school has special resources and practice sessions to help students get ready for and do well on the ACT.
Q5. What does the "Pathways to Bright Futures" program do?
Ans. This pilot program gives high school students a faster way to get to college graduation.
