The East Baton Rouge Parish School District runs Baton Rouge Magnet High School, a public magnet high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for students in grades 9 through 12. Baton Rouge Magnet High School is one of 16 high schools in the district and has about 1,600 students. The student-to-teacher ratio is about 17:1, which helps with structured and interesting classroom instruction. The school is known for its strong college-preparatory focus, offering a wide range of Advanced Placement® courses. 87% of students take AP® classes, which shows that they are very interested in school, and it is one of the best High School in "Louisiana" . There are a lot of different kinds of students at the school. About 60% of them are minorities, and about 21% of them are economically disadvantaged. The academic results are good, with 69% of students doing well in math and 93% doing well in reading. This shows that students do well in all of their core subjects. Funding per student is in line with district averages and helps support strong academic programs. The school is in a well-established city, which helps its reputation for academic excellence.

Magnet Schools of America recently named Baton Rouge Magnet High School Principal Nanette McCann the 2026 Region V Principal of the Year, honoring her leadership throughout a seven-state area. The school also earned a place on the 2025 AP School Honor Roll for successfully expanding access to college-level coursework and supporting high student achievement on Advanced Placement exams. Through the QuestBridge National College Match program, several seniors have also been awarded full four-year scholarships to prestigious universities.
