Shawnee Mission South High School is starting a new Environmental Science program that will include building an outdoor classroom and sustainability lab on campus. The school's athletic department is getting a lot of new facilities, like a new turf surface for the multi-purpose stadium so that it can be used for activities all year round. The Raider band and orchestra programs also got great reviews from the state, which shows how talented the students are at the school's music conservatory.
