In December, Illinois Army National Guard recruiters served as judges for the Chicago Public Schools Department of JROTC Drill Competition hosted at Carver Military Academy HS where cadets demonstrated military drill and ceremony. Carver’s girls flag football team was featured in the Chicago Bears’ “Flagged for Greatness” Training Camp Diaries, which involved going to practice at Halas Hall, meeting players like Grady Jarrett and Caleb Williams, and getting Nike cleats donated by the Bears. The school’s JROTC program continues to stress discipline, leadership, and service, giving cadets chances to compete and interact with military partners.
