As part of the district's long-term improvement plan, North High School is getting a new turf field and an eight-lane track. These are just some of the major upgrades that are currently happening. The Iowa Department of Education supports the UVA Partnership for Leaders in Education, which is a multi-year effort to improve academic performance through specialized support systems. The school is also a key part of this effort. Students have recently done very well in the arts and community service.
