The high school system in Iowa is growing faster, with an estimated 4-year graduation rate of 88.3 percent, and 78.5 percent of the high school buildings in Iowa have received acceptable or higher ratings on the state accountability scorecard. All subject areas have advanced significantly, especially in the sciences, and the chronic absenteeism rate is at an all-time low of 15.8 percent.
