About Jordan Vocational High School

Columbus, Georgia is home to Jordan Vocational High School. It's a public high school for kids in grades 9–12 who want to focus on their careers. The Muscogee County School District includes it. There are about 700 to 900 students at the school, and there is about one teacher for every 16 students. We put a lot of emphasis on career and technical education, with specific paths in areas like health sciences, engineering, IT, construction, and business. We still teach all the regular school subjects, of course. Only 12% of students are good at math and 17% are good at reading. We still have a lot of work to do, and there is a big push to teach students useful skills, help them catch up, and get them ready for jobs. We use this money for things like paying for certifications, technical labs, and helping students plan their careers. Students take the Georgia Milestones tests and can also take college entrance exams like the SAT and ACT through programs run by their school district.
