Mainland High School is proud of senior linebacker Myron "MJ" Schafer, who was just named the Daytona Beach Quarterback Club's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The creative departments at the school are also doing well. Recently, a number of students won prestigious awards at the Volusia County World Languages and Fine Arts festivals. The campus is also expanding its career-focused curriculum through its specialized academies, which give students more advanced options in digital media and scientific research.
