About Metropolitan Business Academy

The Metropolitan Business Academy in New Haven, Connecticut is a public magnet high school for students in grades 9–12. There are about 450 students there. It is one of the best schools in the New Haven School District. It uses a project-based learning method that focuses on four college-preparatory pathways: Law & Homeland Security, Business & Entrepreneurship, Health & Biomedical, and Digital Media. There is one teacher for every 13 students at the school, and 31% of students take AP classes. The Metropolitan Business Academy is improving its specialized curriculum by working with local banks and credit unions. This gives students real-world experience in business and being a responsible member of society. The school recently upgraded its digital media and business labs with high-tech equipment to help the Academy of Finance and Academy of Hospitality pathways. Also, students have won awards in regional DECA competitions, which shows that they are very good at sales and marketing.
