About Common Ground High School

Common Ground High School is a public charter school in New Haven, Connecticut, that teaches kids in grades 9–12. It is the only high school in its district, and people say it is one of the best because it focuses on urban farming and environmental leadership. There are about 12 students for every teacher at the school, which can hold about 230 students. The AP participation rate stays at 30% because students can take Advanced Placement courses, and it is one of the best High School in "Connecticut" . Common Ground High School recently added new renewable energy installations to its campus to help with its sustainability efforts. These installations are also used as live teaching tools in environmental science classes. The school's urban farm and forest program has gotten a lot of attention across the country for its hands-on approach to food justice and biodiversity. Students are also taking part in new paid environmental leadership internships that link what they learn in the classroom with real-life conservation work in the New Haven area.
