Piedmont Hills High School is one of the best schools in San Jose, California, and it serves students in grades 9 through 12. It is a well-known school in the East Side Union High School District, with about 2,100 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 23:1. The school is known as one of the best because it has a strict academic culture and 60% of students take Advanced Placement courses. The new auxiliary gym at Piedmont Hills High School is now open. It is a state-of-the-art facility that will help the school's growing physical education and indoor sports programs. The STEM department has added high-tech lab equipment to its biotechnology classes, which lets students do more advanced genetic research and experiments. The Pirate leadership team is also planning the annual International Week, which is an event where students give presentations and performances that show off the school's rich cultural heritage.
