About San Diego SCPA

The San Diego SCPA (School of Creative and Performing Arts) is a top public magnet school for grades 6–12 in the San Diego Unified School District. It is known as one of the best schools in California because it has a tough dual arts and academic curriculum. The school has a diverse student body, with 84% of students being minorities and 57% of students being economically disadvantaged. It is one of the best schools because of its Advanced Placement programs, which have a 62% participation rate. The school has done very well, with 83% of students being able to read and 32% being able to do math. Organized SAT and ACT testing helps students reach their goals for college and conservatory. The San Diego SCPA has recently improved its arts program by adding new pre-professional conservatory tracks in cinematic arts and technical theater for the school year 2025–2026. The school is getting ready for its big show at the famous Grand Ole Opry, where students will perform on a national stage for the first time. The campus has also upgraded its professional-grade dance studios and recording studios so that students can use the same equipment that professionals do to help them grow creatively.
