Petaluma is a lovely city in Sonoma County with about 60,000 people. It is known for its historic riverfront, agricultural roots, and wealthy, upper-middle-class lifestyle. People think highly of the city high school education system. Public schools often get high marks for quality, and they often do better than many larger districts in California. Local high schools offer a strong college preparatory curriculum, with a lot of students taking AP math and science classes, as well as a wide range of Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. Petaluma is still a wonderful place for families who want a well-rounded education because it has a safe environment, high graduation rates, and a strong focus on getting students involved.
