El Camino High School in Oceanside recently started work on a $6.5 million project to modernize the campus. This includes building a new two-story classroom building and a state-of-the-art weight room. The school also won the prestigious title of 2024 California Distinguished School for its outstanding growth in academic achievement and dedication to closing opportunity gaps. Biotechnology students have become well-known in the area for their performance at the UCSD STEM Event. The Marine Corps JROTC program at the school has also recently reached elite status.
