About Cabrillo High

Long Beach, California's Cabrillo High School is a public school that is part of the Long Beach Unified School District. It teaches students in grades 9 through 12.The school has about 1,700 students and about 20 students for every teacher, so it provides a pretty structured learning environment right in the city. Cabrillo High School has a lot of core classes, AP classes, and electives that help kids get ready for college or a job. Our student body is very diverse because most of our students come from minority backgrounds. Schoolwork has been hard for us lately. In math, only 8% of students are considered proficient, and in reading, only 39% are. These numbers are still lower than what we're seeing in other parts of the state. Kids also take the SAT and ACT to get ready for college after high school. The school really serves the working-class community there. Cabrillo High School's main goal is to help students do better in school by giving them the help they need and giving them more opportunities to prepare for college and their future jobs.
