El Monte High School recently held a grand opening for its new three-story classroom building. This modern building has 24 high-tech classrooms and collaborative spaces that are meant to support 21st-century learning. The school is also expanding its academic reach through a new dual-enrollment program with Rio Hondo College. This lets high school students earn college credits that they can use at other colleges. The Lions' varsity teams have done very well in sports, making it to the regional playoffs. This has helped to strengthen the school's long-standing tradition of community pride.
