The West Virginia Department of Education recently gave the WIN Academy at BridgeValley Community and Technical College the Purple Star Award for its unwavering commitment to helping military-connected students and their families. The academy's unique public charter status was also officially renewed for a full five-year term, the longest possible extension, because it is still having an effect on students' success and readiness for the workforce. Also, students have been actively involved in community service projects, like making handmade blankets for babies in the NICU at WVU Thomas Hospitals.
