Burlington, Vermont, is a lively city on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain, near the Green Mountains. It has about 44,000 residents and is known for its walkable downtown, progressive culture, and strong sense of community. The Burlington School District is in charge of most of the elementary schools in the area. It runs several well-respected public elementary schools, and there are also respected private and independent schools in the city and nearby towns. The city values are reflected in its strong arts, music, and outdoor learning programs.
