Homer Pittard Campus School (often called “Campus School”) is a K–5 public laboratory school in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, operated jointly by Rutherford County Schools and Middle Tennessee State University.Its purpose blends rigorous elementary instruction with hands-on teacher training and research infusion.The school emphasizes small-group differentiated learning, project-based instruction, and partnerships with university faculty to embed best practices.Campus School also supports a Gifted & Talented program for advanced learners.Its facilities include media resources, technology-enabled classrooms, maker space opportunities, and community-oriented events.While rooted in tradition, the school remains forward-looking—leveraging data, university collaboration, and innovation to nurture students’ intellectual curiosity and leadership.

In 2025, a Campus School 5th grade teacher and an MTSU education professor appeared on the “MTSU on 2” segment to share strategies for end-of-year test preparation.
Earlier, the school community supported a driveway renaming in honor of a past principal, marking renewed focus on legacy and community identity.
