Indian Lake Elementary School (ILE), located at 505 Indian Lake Road in Hendersonville, Tennessee, is a public K–5 school in the Sumner County Schools district. As an officially STEM-accredited school, ILE emphasizes integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics across subjects. The school blends rigorous core instruction in literacy, math, social studies, and science with specials in art, music, physical education, and library media. ILE promotes project-based learning, hands-on experiences, and technology usage to build critical thinking and innovation.
The campus includes modern classrooms, a dedicated STEAM lab, and secure facilities. Parental involvement is strong through an active PTO that funds the STEAM teacher role and supports enrichment programs. ILE also uses digital tools and platforms to extend learning beyond the classroom. Under Principal Jennifer McCay, the school strives to nurture well-rounded students ready for the next academic stage, combining academic challenge with creativity, collaboration, and curiosity.
