The Sumner County Schools district runs Station Camp Elementary School in Gallatin, Tennessee. It is a public elementary school for grades Pre-K through 5. The school has about 870 students and a student-teacher ratio of about 16 to 1, which lets teachers give each student more individual attention and help.
Station Camp Elementary is all about hard academics. It has a Gifted & Talented program and uses the "Wit & Wisdom" literacy curriculum to help kids understand what they read and think critically. The school encourages students to work together and ask questions in all of their classes.
About 70% of the students are White, 9% are African American, 9% are Hispanic, 5% are multiracial, and almost 5% are Asian. About 4% of students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, which shows that the school doesn't have a lot of economic diversity. About 72% of students meet or exceed proficiency standards in math and 65% in reading/ELA on state tests. These numbers are higher than the state averages.
There isn't any data on how much each school spends, but the average cost per student in the district is about $10,000. The community has a stable, family-friendly feel, with a median home value of about $340,000. Station Camp Elementary is known for its strong academics, support from the community, and consistent student success.
