Huron, located in east-central South Dakota, is known for hosting the annual South Dakota State Fair, a celebration of agriculture, culture, and community pride. The city is also home to the famous 20-foot “World’s Largest Pheasant” statue, a nod to its hunting heritage. Notable figure Cheryl Ladd, actress from Charlie’s Angels, spent part of her early life here, adding celebrity charm. While Huron offers a friendly atmosphere and affordable living, its public education system could improve by expanding technology resources and advanced academic programs.
Elementary schools such as Buchanan K-1 Center and Madison 2-3 Center are appreciated for dedicated teachers and community involvement. With its unique attractions and focus on progress, Huron continues to grow as a welcoming South Dakota city.
