In November 2025, a groundbreaking ceremony for a new consolidated PK–8 campus included West Broadway Middle School. City and state leaders marked the start of construction on a facility estimated to cost between $62.5 million and $82 million, which will merge West Broadway Middle School with Asa Messer Elementary. The project is intended to create a unified campus serving students across grade levels within a single modernized facility.
