Being Updated
Southeast Elementary School, according to recent reports, is doing exceptionally well academically and has cultivated a positive atmosphere, landing it in the top 5% of Oklahoma's public schools. This is a significant accomplishment, highlighting the school's educational impact. Niche gives the school an overall A grade, a clear indication of its strong academic performance and the quality of its teachers. Furthermore, the school prioritizes community involvement and character development for its students. The Jenks Public Schools website's live news feed highlights recent events, including "Kindness Week," during which students participate in activities aimed at promoting kindness and self-reflection.
Students also took part in a State Archery Meet, albeit virtually because of the weather, demonstrating the school's strengths extend beyond academics. Southeast Elementary is also acknowledging its staff. In early 2025, the school recognized Cicely Heggem, one of its classified staff members, for her contributions. Furthermore, Mrs. Colvin, the 2024 Teacher of the Year, received accolades late last year for her exceptional work. The school's "house teams" system, which brings together students from different classes in smaller groups, is actively fostering connection, peer learning, and emotional development.
