Latest News

The Putnam City Public Schools district said on August 4, 2025, that Fred Rhodes, its superintendent for a long time, will retire at the end of the 2025–26 school year after 50 years in public education. He started working in the district as a student-teacher in 1976. Later, he was the assistant principal at Dennis Elementary, then the principal, and finally the central administration. The Oklahoma State School Boards Association and the school board will work together to find Rhodes' replacement now that he is leaving.

This change in leadership at Dennis Elementary is a sign of bigger changes happening in the district that could affect the school's future goals and resources. The announcement doesn't directly mention the school, but the change gives Dennis Elementary a chance to work with the new district leadership and push for continued support for its students and teachers. This news makes it even more important to keep an eye on how changes in district-wide leadership might affect individual schools like Dennis Elementary in the coming school year.
