Being Updated
Montessori School 31 marks an important milestone in growing its multi-age classroom projects to support student-driven exploration and independent learning. Recently the school held a “Practical Life Expo” where scholars demonstrated the self-directed skills and independence they have gained from the authentic Montessori model. The campus recently updated its nature-based outdoor classroom for more hands-on science and environmental studies.
Q1. What are the advantages of multi-age classrooms for individual student learning and social development at Montessori School 31?
Ans.The model allows students to learn at their own pace and allows older children to develop leadership through peer mentoring.
Q2. What special Montessori “Practical Life” materials are available for students on the Montessori School 31 campus?
Ans. At tactile stations, students learn to do everyday things like pour, button, and care for plants independently with special wooden tools.
Q3. Does Montessori School 31 have a dedicated outdoor learning space for nature-based science?
Ans. As part of science, we have a “Discovery Garden” on our campus where students learn about life cycles and care for local plants.
Q4. In the Montessori philosophy of learning, how does Montessori School 31 use standardized testing?
Ans. We have to take state tests, but we emphasize daily independent work and quality assessments to gauge academic progress of students.
Q5. What is a “Work Cycle” for parents at Montessori School 31?
Ans. Parents can schedule an observation morning to see how students independently navigate their classroom materials and personalized learning objectives.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
