Burns Avenue School recently hosted its annual Scholastic Book Fair, where students were able to browse for new books and engage in community reading activities. The school community is also celebrating the appointment of its new principal to lead the academic year 2025 – 2026. This spring, students celebrated their achievements in creative writing and storytelling during a lively digital “Author’s Celebration.”
Q1. What are the procedures for students arriving at Burns Avenue School in their own automobiles?
Ans. Parents must use the designated drop off loop for safety reasons and students must exit from the passenger side.
Q2. What is the school policy for students who cycle to Burns Avenue School?
Ans. Students can bike to school if they wear helmets and lock their bikes in the racks near the entrance.
Q3. Does Burns Avenue School have a list of approved healthy snacks for classroom celebrations?
Ans. The school nurse maintains a special list of nut-free and low-sugar options to ensure all student allergies are respected.
Q4. What is the procedure for a parent to visit a classroom in Burns Avenue School?
Ans. Visitors are required to make an appointment prior to arrival and to scan their photo identification at the main security desk.
Q5. Are there any local recycling or sustainability initiatives that Burns Avenue School participates in?
Ans. The school has a “Green Team” program that has empowered students to take the lead in paper and plastic recycling throughout the building.
