P.S. 811X: The Academy for Career and Living Skills cut the ribbon on a new hydroponic lab, a huge milestone. Thanks to the $175,000 project, students will be able to grow fresh produce, such as kale and tomatoes, in the classroom. The state-of-the-art site supports the school’s STEM and vocational curriculum, giving scholars practical training in sustainable agriculture and environmental science to prepare them for future career pathways. The academy is also hosting its 2026 Career and Transition Fair this week, connecting upperclassmen with local employment agencies and professional mentors to learn independent living skills.
