PS 71 Rose E. Scala recently earned accolades for its “Scala Success” program, which offers customized academic pathways for upper elementary and middle-school grade students. The school celebrated a group of 8th graders who earned prestigious city-wide scholarships for their academic achievement and community leadership. The campus also held its biggest “International Night” ever, a celebration of the cultural diversity and legacy of the student body and families.

Ans. Nine years on one campus means students develop deep relationships with staff and that greatly reduces transition anxiety for older scholars.

Ans. Our “Leadership Academy” provides older students the opportunity to run community service projects and mentor younger elementary students on campus daily.
