Elden Elementary was recently in the spotlight as the school’s Creativity Club performed live The Wizard of Oz, impressing the entire community with their show. This production was a showcase of awesome student teamwork, talent and artistic expression.
The campus community is also celebrating student character growth through its ongoing P2 Character Trait initiative, along with the arts. The program highlights the nominees publicly for their integrity and positivity which builds morale and fosters a positive learning environment.
Q1. Does the school have a before and after school childcare program?
Ans. The YMCA regional child care program provides supervised activities on site before the morning bell and after dismissal as extended day care.
Q2. What is the school’s policy on student dress?
Ans. Students are expected to wear comfortable, safe clothing suitable for the daily indoor and outdoor activities such as sneakers for physical education classes, and are not permitted to wear clothing with disruptive graphics or language.
Q3. How does the school give out medication to students during the day?
Ans. All medications, including over-the-counter types, must be brought to the school nurse in the original packaging by a parent, along with a written physician’s order and parental consent.
Q4. Do families get school supply lists before the start of the school year?
Ans. During the summer, the district website offers grade-specific supply sheets that detail the exact notebooks, folders, and organizational materials required for the next term.
Q5. How can parents participate in the school community?
Ans. Yes. Parents are welcome to join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which plans seasonal family events, coordinates volunteer opportunities for classroom activities, and raises funds for additional educational resources.
