Being Updated
Glen Lake Elementary School has been in the news a lot lately because the Hopkins Public Schools district is making changes that will directly affect the school. Voters approved a big bond and capital-projects levy earlier this year. This gave the district the money it needs to make learning spaces better and make its buildings easier to get to. People who work at Glen Lake say that the changes will make the school safer, more flexible, and better for how students learn now.
Glen Lake's inclusive playground has continued to get attention along with the district's projects. The play area was made so that kids of all abilities can play together, and families say it has already changed how kids act during recess. Teachers say that the playground is a place where kids naturally make new friends and include each other without thinking twice. The Glen Lake community sees the updates to the facilities and the addition of an inclusive play area as a big step forward.
