Normandale Elementary School is a public school in Edina, Minnesota that teaches kids from kindergarten to fifth grade. There are about 650 students and about 17 students per teacher. In addition to the regular curriculum, the school has a French-immersion program that lets students learn a second language while studying math, reading, and science. The student body is somewhat diverse, with most students identifying as White and smaller percentages of Hispanic, Asian, African American, and multiracial students. About 81% of students are good at math and 82% are good at English language arts, which is a good sign for their academic performance. Being Updated
U.S. News & World Report named the school the 11th best public elementary school in Minnesota in 2026. This was a big honor for its academic performance and overall program strength. The ranking looked at schools all over the state and rated them based on how well their students did in math and English language arts, as well as how well they did compared to what was expected. Being in the top 15 in the state shows how well Normandale is doing compared to other high-performing elementary schools in Minnesota. This accomplishment may help the school build its reputation in the community and be of interest to families who are thinking about enrolling.
