Being Updated
In early November 2025, Stopher Elementary School was a big part of two important projects run by the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). First, the school worked with the Dare to Care Food Bank, a local food bank, to start a fall food drive campaign because more people in the community needed access to food. This was part of a bigger effort by the whole district to reach out, with Stopher acting as a collection point. Second, JCPS announced a new "Community Champions" program to recognize and involve local residents in helping students succeed. Stopher is one of the schools that will be part of the rollout of this program. These two efforts make Stopher both a community-focused school and a partner in the district's larger goals. The main goal here is to get people involved and reach out, not to change test scores or funding. However, this activity shows how Stopher's role in its neighborhood and the school district as a whole is changing.
