In Evansville, Indiana, Harper Elementary School is a public school for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. Harper Elementary School has about 350 to 400 students and a student–teacher ratio of about 15:1, which is about the same as the district average. The school offers basic academic programs that focus on reading and writing and getting kids ready for math in the early years. It also offers support services like Title I intervention and special education resources.
The student body is diverse, just like the community around it. Most of the students are from minority groups. U.S. News's reported rates of proficiency in math and English language arts are not publicly confirmed, but the school keeps stressing the importance of growth in these core subjects.
The district spends about the same amount of money on each student as the national average for the middle tier. This is because the funding for classroom instruction and student support is stable. The school is in a residential area where home prices are generally low and the community is close-knit.
In general, Harper Elementary School is a supportive place where students can make steady progress in their studies and grow as people.

Being Updated
Evansville's Harper Elementary School recently announced a new program to help students learn to read better and make sure they come to school every day. A recent message from the district said that the school will start a "Reading Momentum Week," a short, focused campaign to help students get back into the swing of things after winter break and help families make good reading habits at home. To get students interested, teachers are setting up short workshops, book-exchange tables, and reading challenges for each grade level.
Administrators said that Harper Elementary's main goals are still to have predictable routines and help kids learn to read and write early on, especially since the school is trying to keep up its growth in basic subjects. Families have already said they are excited about events that help students feel more connected and energized in the classroom.
The initiative shows that the school is still working hard to keep students interested, build on their basic skills, and strengthen the relationship between teachers and the community.
