Meridian, Idaho, is a quickly growing suburban city in Ada County, which is part of the Treasure Valley. Recent estimates say the city has between 125,000 and 140,000 people living there. It is attractive because it has a mix of suburban comfort and urban amenities, such as safe neighborhoods, family-friendly parks, community events, and a close-knit community feel that is supported by green spaces and places to have fun.
Meridian offers a diverse selection of public and private schools catering to elementary and K–12 students. There are about 44 public schools and 9 private schools in the city, which serve tens of thousands of students. There are more than 20–30 public elementary schools and a few private elementary schools at the elementary level. The local school system tends to focus on academic success. For example, public elementary schools in Meridian have math scores that are 56% above the state average and reading scores that are 66% above the state average.
