McBean Elementary School is a community-centered school with a long-standing history in southern Richmond County and a well-deserved place in the list of Elementary Schools in Georgia. The school originally served many generations of families in its area. It was rebuilt and opened in 1998, signaling a shift for the McBean community in growth and modern education. McBean today is the foundation for learning and community pride. McBean allows students in grades K–5 to learn in a supportive setting with caring teachers, while encouraging inquiry in core academics, creativity, and community and environmental awareness. Many of these eco-friendly learning opportunities are accessed through learning experiences such as Earth Day and through media sources that stress sustainability. McBean Elementary offers an inclusive program structure based on deep community ties, and supports the growth of all students. McBean Elementary is a school that has blended the best of tradition with the best of future-thinking learning, as one of the elite Elementary Schools in Georgia.
