MacFarlane Park Elementary Magnet, the nation’s #1 IB magnet school, earned national excellence awards and introduced new traffic lights and vibrant crosswalk murals to boost student safety.
Q: Is MacFarlane Park inclusive of cultural diversity? A: Yes. At MacFarlane Park, cultural diversity is celebrated through various programs under the umbrella of “Reflections,” which allows students to showcase their talents in a variety of opportunities such as singing, dancing, writing, art, and photography. Q: What health services does the school provide? A: MacFarlane Park has a clinic located on school grounds, with a school nurse who provides basic health care, manages chronic medical conditions, and attends to student health needs during the school day. Q: How does the school communicate with the parents? A: The school communicates with the parents through Class Dojo, email newsletters, phone calls from teachers, and the PTA website, where they provide updates on events and ways to volunteer, as well as resources. Q: Are there opportunities for community service for the students? A: Yes! MacFarlane Park has opportunities for students to participate in community service at events such as “School Beautification Day,” where families work together to improve the school grounds. Q: Does the school include arts and music programs? A: Yes. All students participate in visual arts and music classes, in addition to performing arts opportunities to encourage students to be creative outside of academics.
