Recently, Fox Run held a fun Stem Career Day where students could touch crabs, fly drones, build robots, and record podcasts at interactive STEM stations. They also celebrated Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day with the Norwalk Health Department and the city's Bike/Walk Commission. There were treats, lessons, and fun for the whole community.
Q1. What sets the PINE model at Fox Run apart from others?
Ans. The PINE (Program for Inclusion and Neurodiversity Education) model puts neurodiverse students in regular classrooms and gives them personalized help and chances to co-teach.
Q2. Are there STEM or digital media programs at Fox Run?
Ans. Yes, students work on projects that help them learn STEM and media skills, such as project-based learning, robotics, drone experiments, podcasting, and broadcasting.
Q3. Are there programs at the school that get families involved?
Ans. Fox Run helps families through its Family Resource Center, which has activities like chess, cooking clubs, reading programs, and workshops.
Q4: What does the school do to help students learn social and emotional skills?
Ans. Mindfulness activities, classroom circles, counseling support, and the PINE program, which is open to everyone, all help to teach SEL.
Q5. Does Fox Run take part in programs run by the city or the community?
Ans. Yes, the school works with the Norwalk Health Department and the Bike/Walk Commission to put on events like Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day, which encourages health and community involvement.
