Heartland High School has started a new mentorship program that pairs high school students with elementary school students for weekly activities and trips to college. The school was also chosen as a Model Continuation High School for 2026, which is a big deal because it shows how dedicated they are to providing high-quality alternative education. Also, students are getting real-world job experience through programs like the wildland firefighting skills program.
