Ocean Beach Elementary is a public school in San Diego, California, that serves students in kindergarten through fourth grade. There are about 406 students at the school, and the student-to-teacher ratio is 23:1. This makes it a good place for both individualized instruction and group learning. The school has a core academic curriculum that is supported by programs that focus on reading, writing, math, and critical thinking. Ocean Beach Elementary also teaches social-emotional skills through programs like Leader in Me and gives students the chance to do extra activities in the arts, technology, and hands-on projects. A reading garden and community-based art projects are some of the things that make up its campus. These activities show how involved the school is with the culture of the area. About 46% of the students are minorities, so the student body is not very diverse. The school is one of the best elementary schools in California because about 72% of its students are good at math and 72% are good at reading.

Being Updated
Ocean Beach Elementary just had a great Family STEAM Night! A lot of families, students, and people from the area came out to do hands-on activities with math, science, technology, engineering, and the arts.
The kids showed off some cool things they were learning, and everyone got to work on projects and experiments together. The teachers said that a lot of people took part and looked really excited. Family STEAM Night really helped the school, families, and community get to know each other better.
In 2026, the school will also work to improve the reading garden and other outdoor areas. This will give the kids more chances to play outside, help them read, and make them feel good through lessons outside.
Ocean Beach Elementary is all about getting kids involved, learning by doing, and helping them do their best. The school is still a great place to learn because it brings families together and makes learning spaces even better.
