It is the only school in its district and serves about 1,100 students in a specialized blended learning environment, with a student-to-teacher ratio of about 25:1. The school is known as one of the best because it combines Career Technical Education (CTE) with academic recovery. The campus is very diverse, with 89% of students being minorities and 73% of students being from low-income families. SAVA, or Sacramento Academic and Vocational Academy, says that 13% of its students are good at reading. The school is well-known for its partnerships with the community and its focus on getting students ready for the workforce. The academy is still dedicated to giving all students equal chances and helping them find their way to a high school diploma and a successful career. It does this through its strong campus culture and personalized graduation plans, and it is one of the best high school in California.

SAVA has recently started a Professional Internship program with businesses in the Sacramento area. This program gives students real-world experience in fields like automotive technology and culinary arts. The vocational training centers on campus have been updated with new equipment for students who want to get industry-standard certifications along with their high school diplomas. The school is also hosting a series of Graduation Readiness boot camps this month to help students finish their final senior capstone projects in a way that works best for them.
