Being Updated
Recently, the John Morse Therapeutic Center changed its schedule because of safety measures taken across the district because of severe weather. Classes started up again as soon as the weather improved. The short break showed how much the school cares about keeping students safe and making sure they get the therapy they need.
Q1. How do students get into or get referred to John Morse Therapeutic Center?
Ans. After evaluations by school teams, counselors, and special education professionals to see if a therapeutic setting is right for the student's needs, the Sacramento City Unified School District usually sends students to these settings.
Q2. Does the school have mental health or counseling services on site?
Ans. Yes, the school provides on-site mental health support, including counseling and behavioral interventions, as part of its therapeutic model to assist students in navigating emotional and social difficulties.
Q3. Do families have a say in how students are supported and how their progress is planned?
Ans. Families should go to meetings, progress reviews, and transition planning to make sure that the support strategies at home and school are the same.
Q4: How does the school help students who are going back to a regular school?
The school helps students move to less restrictive educational settings by using gradual transition plans, skill-building programs, and working with receiving schools.
Q5. Are there any extracurricular or enrichment activities at John Morse Therapeutic Center?
Ans. The school has a specific focus, so there aren't many enrichment activities. However, there are structured group activities and skill-building sessions to help students develop socially and stay interested.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
