Crestmont Elementary is implementing the new district-wide visitor management system to enhance campus safety. The school is preparing for spring state testing, including the Smarter Balanced and California Science Test (CAST). Teachers are currently conducting mid-year progress assessments to tailor instruction for the second half of the year.
Q1. How do you report a student's absence at Crestmont Elementary in 2026?
Ans. Parents need to call the 24-hour attendance line or use the ParentSquare app to confirm that their child is not there before 9:00 AM.
Q2. Are personal electronic devices, like smartwatches, allowed in the classroom at Crestmont Elementary?
Ans. To keep students from being distracted during class, smartwatches must be kept in "school mode" or in their backpacks all day.
Q3. Will Crestmont Elementary have any coding or STEM workshops in the spring?
Ans. The school works with local groups to run weekly coding clubs in the computer lab after school.
Q4. How does Crestmont Elementary help students with food allergies during lunch?
Ans. The cafeteria has special tables that are nut-free, and staff keep a close eye on students to make sure they don't share food.
Q5. What are the weekly limits on how many books students at Crestmont Elementary can check out?
Ans. Students in lower grades can borrow one book, while students in higher grades can borrow two items for two weeks.
