Being Updated
The staff and students at Mt. Woodson Elementary recently worked with the police to hold a very successful emergency evacuation drill to make sure the campus was safe. The Mt. Woodson PTA also held a Scholastic Book Fair and a fundraiser at Rubio's to raise money for school supplies. The school's Winter Food Drive, which happens every year, also went well. It got a lot of things to help local families in need during the holidays.
Q1. Is there a school safety committee at Mt. Woodson Elementary?
Ans. A group of staff and parents meets regularly to go over the rules for keeping the campus safe and make changes to the plans for how to respond to emergencies.
Q2. Where exactly are the drop-off zones at Mt. Woodson Elementary?
Ans. Parents are told to use the designated traffic loop, where staff help students get out of cars safely and quickly.
Q3. Is Mt. Woodson Elementary a part of the "Running Club" program?
Ans. Students are encouraged to join the morning running program to get in shape and earn prizes for completing laps.
Q4: How does Mt. Woodson Elementary let parents know about school news every week?
Ans. Every Friday, ParentSquare sends families a digital newsletter with important campus-wide announcements and dates that are coming up.
Q5. Are there places for students to sit in the shade during recess at Mt. Woodson Elementary?
Ans. There are a lot of covered structures and mature trees on the playground to keep students safe from the sun while they play outside.
