Lynwood, California, is a diverse and close-knit city in southeastern Los Angeles County. It has more than 65,000 people living there. Lynwood is known for its strong community ties and mostly Hispanic culture. It has an urban lifestyle and is close to downtown Los Angeles. The Lynwood Unified School District is in charge of most elementary schools. It runs a number of public elementary schools as well as charter schools. Lynwood schools meet the needs of a diverse population by focusing on core academics, bilingual education, STEM programs, and student support services.
