Wedgeworth Elementary is happy that John Roach, a long-time teacher, has been named the new HLPUSD Superintendent. He will be in charge of the district's academic mission. As part of the spring state testing period, the school is getting its fifth graders ready for the California Science Test (CAST). Families are also looking over the new district-wide cell phone policy, which is already making students more interested in class on all campuses.
Q1. Who is the new principal of Wedgeworth Elementary?
Ans. John Roach, a teacher for a long time, was recently named head of the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District mission.
Q2. What is the new cell phone policy for the Wedgeworth Elementary School district?
Ans. A new rule says that students can't use their phones during school hours to make them more interested in class and less likely to be distracted by their phones.
Q3. What state test do fifth graders at Wedgeworth Elementary take?
Ans. As part of the annual spring state assessment period, students take the California Science Test (CAST).
Q4. Is there a dual language program at Wedgeworth Elementary?
Ans. From TK to fifth grade, the school has a Mandarin Dual Language Immersion program that helps students do well in school.
Q5: What is the Wedgeworth Elementary School mascot and spirit day?
Ans. The Warrior is the school's mascot, and every Friday students wear school colors to show their school spirit.
