Alameda is a beautiful island town in the San Francisco Bay Area with about 78,000 people living there. Alameda is a great place for families because it has beautiful waterfront views, historic Victorian homes, and a laid-back but lively lifestyle. The Alameda Unified School District runs a number of highly rated public elementary schools that focus on strong academics, arts integration, STEM programs, and welcoming, diverse learning spaces. Families can choose from respected private schools in addition to good public schools. Some schools in the area have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools and California Distinguished Schools, which means they are very good at academics. Alameda is a great place for elementary school because the neighborhoods are safe and the community is very involved.
